Introduction: Increasing the prevalence of Dementia is one of the consequences of aging, Due to the nature of Dementia and high level of dependency, taking care of these patients’ leads to mental disorders in Family caregivers. On the other hand, the existence of these disorders makes the Family Functioning disturbed. Hence, evaluating Family Functioning can be a suitable tool to predict Family mental health. The evaluation of Anxiety in caregivers of elderly patients with dementia and their relationship with the Family Function was the aim of this study. Methods: This methodological study was a correlation one. 150 Family caregivers of the elderly suffering from Dementia referring to Iran’ s Alzheimer's Association in Tehran by sampling in 1394-95 and according to Inclusion criteria were selected. caregivers' anxiety and their Family Function was measured through the Zung Anxiety Inventory and Family Functioning McMaster Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient, variance analysis, Scheffe post hoc test and multiple stepwise regression analysis using SPSS 19 software. Results: 19. 4% ٫ and 1. 3% of studied Family caregivers of elderly suffering from Dementia had mild anxiety, and severe anxiety respectively. Family Function in these patients was found in all dimensions except for the problem solving; also, there was a negative and significant relationship between all Family subscales and carers' anxiety (P <0. 001). The results of multiple stepwise linear regression analysis to predict anxiety on the dimensions of Family Function and underlying variables indicated that behavioral, economic status and health status were able to predict the variance of carers' anxiety. Conclusions: According to the prevalence of Anxiety syndrome in caregivers of patients with dementia and the relation between families Functioning with Anxiety, evaluating dimensions of Family Functioning as one of the important indicators of Family Therapy and Education can improve these caregivers’ health.

Abstract:

Introduction: Some researchers suggest moral identity is an important source of moral motivation that facilitates commitment to moral behavior (Blasi, 2008; Bergman, 2008). By moral identity, we mean a commitment that emphasizes behavioral consideration and support of others’ welfare, and continues with an ongoing personal feeling about the self (Matsuba et al., 2011; Hardy, 2008; Atkins, Hart& Donnelly, 2004). The present conceptualization of moral identity has two different aspects: a) Internalization is the degree to which moral principles are central to one’ s self-concept: b) Symbolization reflects the extent to which moral principles are expressed outwardly to others (Aquino & Reed, 2002). Several factors have been identified as influences on the development of moral identity, some of them are individual and some contextual. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between Family Functioning components (cohesion, expressiveness, agreement, intellectual, recreation and religious orientations, organization, sociability, internal locus of control, Family idealization, flexibility, laissez-faire decision-making, democratic and authoritarian styles, autonomy) with moral identity of adolescent and its dimensions, internalization and symbolization. cohesion, expressiveness, agreement, intellectual, recreation and religious orientations, organization, sociability, internal locus of control, Family idealization, flexibility, laissez-faire decision-making, democratic and authoritarian styles, autonomy). Research questions: According the above, the purpose of this research was to answer the following questions: 1) Dose Family Functioning predict moral identity of adolescents? 2) Dose Family Functioning predict symbolization of adolescents’ moral identity? 3) Dose Family Functioning predict internalization of adolescents’ moral identity? Method: Current study was descriptive, a correlational study. The samples consisted of 533 high school students (260 boys and 273 grils) that were selected by multistage random sampling method. After coordinating the research with the department of education of Qom’ s quadruplet areas, one school were randomly selected from each area. One classroom from each of the first, second and third grade was randomly selected from each school and the students were administered the questionnaires. Participants completed Aquino and Reed's Moral Identity Scale (2002) that consists of 13 items and two subscales of symbolization and internalization. Family Function scale (FFS) consists of 13 subscales that reflecting Family Function (cohesion, expressiveness, agreement, intellectual, recreation and religious orientations, organization, sociability, internal locus of control, Family idealization, flexibility, laissez-faire decision-making, democratic and authoritarian styles, autonomy). The relationship between moral identity and Family Function was assessed by Pearson’ s correlation. Linear regression analysis (stepwise method) was also used to assess whether Family Function was a significant predictor of moral identity total score and its dimensions, internalization and symbolization. Results: Results of data analysis, by using stepwise regression, showed that expressiveness, democratic parenting style and intellectual orientation components had the highest predictive power on moral identity. Also democratic parenting style, expressiveness and religious orientation components, increased significantly the predictive power of symbolization of moral identity. Finally components of expression, flexibility and democratic parental style explained about 6% of the internalization variance. Discussion: The results of this research indicate that democratic parenting characterized by three dimensions, responsiveness, autonomy-granting, and demandingness, seems to facilitate moral identity development (Hardy, et al., 2010). Responsiveness enables the accurate understanding and acceptance of parental moral values. When adolescents feel loved by and comfortable with their parents, they are more likely to listen to and agree with what they say and do. Autonomy-granting encourages identity exploration and commitment, including reflection on and commitment to moral principles. Demandingness helps youth understand moral principles and appreciate the consequences that follow from complying with or violating such principles (Dunn, 2014). Democratic parenting together with appropriate atmosphere for dialogue and expressing the needs and feelings in the Family, and the existence of religious orientations and religious beliefs, provide the necessary grounds for moral development in adolescents. Also flexibility in responding to the need for independence of adolescents provides space for the discovery of values, internalization, and commitment to selective values, which is one of the dimensions of moral identity.

Abstract:

This research studied the relationship between Family Function and adolescents' identity. To this end, 320 high school students (160 boys and 160 girls) selected through a cluster random sampling from Mashhad city. The participants completed Family Assessment Device (Epstein, Baldwin, & Bishop, 1983) and Identity Dimensions Questionnaire (Rajaei, Khonezhad, & Shirazi, 1388). The data showed that individual identity has a positive relation with problem-solving and reponsiveness, and negative relation with behavior control and involvement. Also, academic identity has a positive relation with responsiveness and a negative relation with behavior control and involvement. The problem-solving and responsiveness components have positive relation with national and religious identity. Finally, there is no relationship between Family Function components with vocational identity

Abstract:

Introduction: ADHD is chronic and traumatic disorder, which continues from childhood to adulthood. This research was conducted in order to compare the Family Functions of mothers with normal and ADHD children and investigating the effectiveness of problem solving skill instruction on the Family Function of mothers with ADHD children. Method: This research is a quasi-experimental study with a control group. 8 ADHD mothers and 12 normal mothers were selected using available sampling as the statistical sample, and were divided into two groups after homogenization in terms of their age and gender. Before and after the Badell & Lannox problem solving skill training, the subjects completed the Family assessment device (FAD) questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS.15 software and for analysis of hypothesis, independent T-test independent was used. Results: Family Functions of mothers of normal children were disturbed comparing to those of ADHD mothers (p<0.05). Moreover, the problem solving skill training for ADHD mothers improved their Family Function; especially this training improved their problem solving ability, parental roles, behavior control and general Function (p<0.05); but did not significantly change emotional responsiveness, communication and support (p>0.05), which suggest the sensitivity and effect of multiple factors on Family Function. Conclusion: Family Function of mothers with ADHD children is considerably weaker than mothers of normal children and problem solving skill instruction improves Family Function of mothers with ADHD children, especially their problem solving ability, parental roles, behavior control, and general Function.

Abstract:

This study seeks to examine the relationship between Family power structure of man-powered and the Family Function. The sample consisted 170 teachers selected by cluster sampling method that is in Nurabad city, Lorestan. In this research, FAD 45-item questionnaire of Family Functioning and 36-item questionnaire of Family power structure were used. This research represents a quantitative correlation. The Data were analyzed by Pearson correlation and stepwise multiple regression. The research findings showed a significant positive relationship between Family power structure of man-powered and Family Function style (general Function of Family, emotions, problem solving), but the relationship between the power structure of man-powered and role was not significant. Furthermore, the power structure (How to apply power), as far as male authority in Family is concerned, explained approximately %10 of the variance of Family Function. Accordingly, Male authority strengthened Family Function.

Abstract:

The proper Functioning of Family is an influential factor in the flourishing and progress of Family members which ultimately results in the growth of society. Family educational interventions in all fields, especially in the field of performance, promote the mental, social and moral health of its members. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of teaching the indigenous model of happiness-based Family on the Function of Family by using the semi-experimental pre-test post-test design with a control group (waiting list group) and a three-month follow-up. Among married volunteer teachers of Qom province, 30 teachers were selected and randomly assigned to the experimental and control group (waiting list group). The experimental group was then trained for nine ninety minute sessions in nine consecutive weeks under a training of the indigenous model of happiness-oriented Family. In order to gather the research data, the Oxford Happiness Inventory (HOI), Family Assessment Device (FAD) and Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL90) were used. The results of mixed method MANOVA analysis with repeated measurements showed a significant difference between the mean scores of the pre-test and post-test of the experimental group and the waiting group (control group). Also scores in the follow-up phase had a relative stability that indicated the effectiveness of the mentioned intervention program. Based on this, it is concluded that the training program based on the indigenous model of happiness-based Family may be used to make progress in the Family's positive performance.
